🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Displeasure Regarding Size Updates Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and manually change the size if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
